HEALTH & SAFETY
KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC:
The welfare of our employees, customers, suppliers and our community has always been at the heart of BigChange. This is why, when the government instructed that everyone who could work from home should do so, we ceased visits to customers and asked all our employees to comply with this guidance.
THERE ARE SOME RARE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS:
Our team of engineers installing trackers and other equipment are still visiting customer sites to access vehicles and we have a very small number of employees using the office where they cannot work from home. Both these groups are working under strict conditions with the necessary equipment and processes to protect them.
THE REMOTE WORKING HAS THROWN UP SOME CHALLENGES BUT HAS ALSO ALLOWED US TO TRY OUT SOME NEW WAYS OF WORKING.
We are finding that remote onboarding is generally more effective than onboarding at customer sites as we are able to break up training into manageable chunks and pace the process to suit the customer. With less travelling, our account managers are more available and we can bring in Subject Matter Experts more easily. We are working to make remote selling and demonstrating as effective as meetings at customer sites, and the ability to record demonstrations and training is helpful for us and our customers. We have also developed JobWatch to enable customer signatures to be captured on their own devices, rather than the engineer’s device.
To protect all of our team we will not be returning to on-site meetings until the government guidance changes, and even after that we will use our own risk assessments to guide our advice to our team. You can review a copy of our current risk assessment here. If you would like to discuss this with any of our senior management team please get in touch.
